This McMorris seems unrelated to Malik and Patrick? I only ask because they're a great family. Malik is the nicest dude and one of my favorite players.
There's another one, Hakim, who did track at Cal as well. There are at least 5 siblings, including two sisters who play basketball. I've only met Malik but, as far as I've heard, they're all really smart, athletic, and humble despite their achievements.
There are some obligatory UC bureaucratic checkpoints that need to met before it can be more formally announced. That's why the hire was leaked unofficially yesterday--to get in front of this signing period even though the ink hasn't totally dried.

To clarify, this is the EARLY signing period, and there is a final one in February. So our new coach will have time to bolster this class..

But this is Cal. How could they do something so smart? The usual would be we miss the opportunity even though Tosh hire is confirmed.
