Good move relieving Simon from having to coach ILB's and now on game days just call each individual defensive play and prepare for the next one as the game progresses. Maybe he'll be upstairs where he can see the whole field. He can't do that on the sidelines.

If he goes to upstairs, will he wear blue?

I hope. so. the reason he wore odd colors when he was on the field is to be able go be seen easily by the D captain for the signals for adjustments to the called D.

Feels like Cal really is trying to be a modern football program and engaging fully with the new era. Here's hoping for success!

Yup…in year 9! Unreal….now or never.

7-5 should be the floor.

I was curious how this was possible so I googled and found out the NCAA no longer has the max 10 assistant coach limit. More than 10 assistant coaches can now be on the field during the games too. Like mentioned in the post, there's still recruiting regulations. So that means Rolovich can coach during games too. Cool

Still no dedicated special teams coach/coordinator?

Moving guys up in their responsibilities (and salaries) helps to cut down on staff poaching/churn which can only be a good thing (when they are good coaches)
