Well, Wilcox better hit the portal hard or this roster will be in trouble. Right now we have no HS RB or QB recruits and rather than reach for a HS recruit he decides to go after RBs and QBs in the portal.

Supposedly Christopher Brooks is also in the portal. I’m not surprised and I think he ends up back home at SDSU.

Also, IMO, this is a clear indicator that Garbers is gone. No way Brooks wants to stick around and break in a new QB and more than likely miss out on another bowl game.

The craziness has started! Hopefully we get some transfers coming the other way to balance things out. Maybe this is why Wilcox doesn't seem too worried about our less than impressive recruiting.

is it still a thing where Cal doesn't like taking grad students from Cal?

Never understood going to a Junior University after getting your bachelor's degree.

Can't blame him if he wants to get a master's degree while continuing to play. If it's Furd, so be it. If I recall he was a Menlo School-Atherton guy.

He grew up in Portola Valley and then his family moved to Piedmont for his HS years.

His father and his uncle played football at Furd too

Since the other live thread is behind the paywall....

As long as the incoming talent > departing talent on transfer portable, I will be fine.

Not gonna lie, don't understand this move from him, especially being a bay area boy. I guess he just needed a fresh start.

He was getting snaps because Brett Johnson was out for the season, with Brett coming back next season and a slew of DLs pushing for PT on the Luc spot the writing was on the wall.

My guess is that on the inside d-line we have some really BIG young players who have improved a great deal this year. Likewise we have some young studs at D-end and Johnson is coming back next year. Tevis was probably looking at a lesser role in the future. Sad to lose him but not to worried about it.

Does he have a brother playing for The Farm team?

Not that I'm aware of

I agree. A key cog in the wheel for the D. This weakens the DL considerably. OK, 1st surprise of the off-season, hopefully there won't be many more.

He was a solid player this year but we have a lot of young guys who are bigger, stronger and more athletic who will probably be getting a lot more playing time next year. And Johnson will be back next year as well.

I agree, I don’t understand this move.

I mean he is graduated already so going to grad school on the other side is rather negligible even for a legacy outlook, he has already gotten a higher education.
