In Wilcox’s Tuesday media availability he responded to a question about the injured players’ availability. He said the two injured OL, as well as Ott and Reese, are probable, Littlejohn is questionable, and the two WR are out, but I do not recall him saying anything about Ricky Correia. Anyone know his status?

I actually had forgotten about our 5-0 start in 2019. Now I have all these terrible memories of talking to myself late at night and wanting to drink more and throw things.

But this season feels special to me. Part of it is because of how I view the team and the kids.

Anyway, win or lose, Go Bears! So proud of Cal.

Who is to say the stars weren't present DURING the SDSU game?! Hell the Jet had over 150yds. Hunter continues to play at a high level. Perhaps these are our stars this year. Vatikani is OK, not sure he makes much of a difference. And the listed starter ~ at the start of the season ~ at center hasn't even played a down at Cal, perhaps he doesn't pan out or it takes multiple games for him to get back into game shape.

Our stars are currently playing by virtue that they are actually PLAYING. The grass isn't necessarily greener on the other side.

First part I agree with

Also, in the past no Ott was death. Now Ott and Reese didn’t play a single snap, so that’s more of what I was saying with stars. Good to see the youth rising but still need more for the stars label

Buchanan has been stellar through his first three games with Cal, not to mention his time at UCD. He had an incredible game vs. Auburn.

The Jet is a star! His touchdown against Auburn was amazing. The safety came up to meet him, and he just ran away from him into the end zone. The difference in the game.

He’s great- hopefully the next great Oakland -> Cal pipeline running back

He actually would have had over 200 yards easily if he had stayed in there. But it was wise to give Callaway some snaps and then the dude after him for garbage time

Yes. Now the hard work begins. When Mendoza has time, he's excellent. But when he's under pressure, or sacked, it undermines the goal of a ball control offense. Our offensive line is undermined by injuries, but they will have a heavy burden as they go forward. Hopefully our defensive line will continue their workmanlike effort, and perhaps improve. Our running game must be consistent, especially on short yardage downs. Another week, another challenge to get to a full game performance.

Ball control offense with complimentary defense, that is the Wilcox dream.

Two years in a row where we've had the big legged but inaccurate kicker... I'd 100% rather have someone who's money from inside 40 (and we did) but not a credible threat from 45+ out.

We had him, but couldn't offer a scholly because we had a kicker with a scholly, who ended up leaving over the summer...

We had Baghani, but I think he meant that was after we lost a game or two with an inaccurate kicker who was later benched for Baghani. I wrote in yesterday's DBD too, but we miss Baghani. Now that you mention scholarship, I remember why he left.

Mateen making a field goal was one of the few bright spots for the Bruins in their lopsided home loss to Indiana of all things. Sturdivant didn't do much and Oladejo was in there at LB while their defense was shredded. Garbers was running for his life most of the time.

Nothing will come easy in Tallahassee as I can’t imagine the ‘Noles sitting at 0-3 and looking past us. Gotta earn it….

Our slow starts don't help the cause. If there is any game to race out, this is it. Getting a two possession lead will weigh heavily on the morale and psyche of a fragile FSU team.

We also have depth at OL and DL. Once big boys start to gel, stay healthy and Fernando continues grow we should be on the right path. I love to see a corner blitz or extra lb get after the FSU qb. He played much better when he was at Oregon St. Blitz, send lots of pressure.

Sermon had a great game plan for Auburn, I’m sure he’ll have a good one for FSU. Guys just have to be come out of the gate hard, be disciplined, and execute their assignments.

Hopefully the depth in the running back room will continue to shine. FSU only allowed 66 rushing yards against Memphis but somehow lost, so surely this will be the Bears' biggest test of the season so far. Also we must pressure Uiagalelei.

FSU's defense seems fine. Their terrible offense is why they're losing.
