Bummed that Brett’s career was cut short. Such a wonderfully skilled player who utilized his martial arts/wrestling skills to create leverage. He was a promising pro prospect. Will miss his presence on and off the field. I hope he connects with a pursuit that strikes his passion as much as playing football clearly did. Always a Golden Bear - I have the image of him carrying the axe down the sideline through a sea of celebrants after Cal beat Stanford in 2021, dressed in street clothes and holding the axe high.

Brett’s situation is a dramatic example that the degree & school you go to is can still be vitally important. Unfortunately, the best recruits, with NIL, are putting shorter term values ahead of the school/degree.

Wow.....I feel so bad for his injuries, but he'll overcome all that with the quality of his character. A really impressive person. Best of luck, Brett; we're all proud to have you represent Cal now and into the future.

It has to be so frustrating to have more talent than one's body can handle. Appreciate all the effort he gave constantly trying to compete. Hope that determination brings him great success.

What a heroic young man. Always a Bear indeed. Sending love and support to the guy for whatever he does next. To be given such talent and then have injury take it away, well, it happens. At least he and his generation haven't died on the fields of Belgium or in one of our many other wars that robbed young men and women of so much life and health. Respect and appreciation...Brett.
