Cal HC Justin Wilcox announced an addition to the football staff at his weekly press conference on Tuesday.
Former Oregon and Cal Offensive Line Coach Steve Greatwood is returning to Berkeley. Greatwood retired from coaching after the 2019 season but returns to Berkeley as an analyst.

The Bears continue their season this Saturday against the UW Huskies. Game is scheduled for a 7:30PM PT kickoff on ESPN.
This is as strong a repudiation of his current staff as I'd ever expect Wilcox to make. He's been pissed for weeks, and now he brings back his previous O-line coach, basically telling our staff "you're not good enough, we're going back to the way that was working better."
The writing is on the wall for post-season changesβbut whether we have the funds and reputation to make good offensive staff hires remains to be seen.
