The 2025 Mountain West All-Conference First Team transfer is headed to Berkeley after predictions had the TE landing at UCLA according to CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz
Two big tight ends and Ian Strong - big (literally) targets for JKS which is a welcome change after having to throw to De Jesus (big heart short stature) all the time
I'm a bit worried that Cade already knows where he's headed (BYU rumored) because of his DNC tag. We don't have a LB coach announced yet, so we don't know what is happening behind the scenes. Portal is open until Jan 16 so I would assume we'll know soon (is it someone on a playoff team waiting until after this week's games? No clue.).
Holy shit….and I thought we had problems. But frankly, the fact that there is not a similar clamor here from the academic side is the direct result of Chancellor Lyon’s leadership, where he has made it clear we can expect and frankly deserve both academic and athletic excellence.
Brilliant pickup stealing him from UCLA when every outlet had it locked at 100%. Flipping predictions like that usually means someone's doing real relationship building, not just NIL bidding wars. I rememer when portal recruiting felt like throwing darts blindfolded, but this staff is clearly operating diferent. The fact Thomas was 3rd nationally in TE receptions but still flew under mainstream radar shows great scouting depth.
When it comes to short yardage power running game, the use of 2 or more TE's is getting to be popular for added large blockers and out numbering defensive fronts. Great commit. GO BEARS!
I literally cannot remember the last time Cal had two credible pass catching tight ends. It would have to have been at some point in the Tedford era.
Well last year we had Endries and Dyches. Dyches did not put up big numbers but he was a good pass catcher.
Before that, maybe Richard Rodgers and Stephen Anderson? They were "inside receivers"
Yeah that's fair I'm probably underrating Dyches, who unfortunately had pretty limited production at Cal in part due to injury issues.
Ya I was gonna say Endries and Dyches for the 4 game he was healthy lol!

I think this is more than progress. This is the resulting outcome from elite recruiters.
Yes, outstanding recruiting and the BANK of CALIFORNIA is now open ;-)
100%
I'm nervous. This program isn't supposed to have nice things! Battered Bear Syndrome is hard to deprogram 🥴
This! Haha. 👆🏽
Progress. Let's also work on keeping some of our own in the Portal
The way these guys are bagging recruits those slots might get filled! The portal taketh and giveth but some might not be able to come back home.
We just need Cade to come back and everyone else can stay in the portal

at this rate, we'll probably hire the line coach from BYU to keep him.
oh nice recruit. I like him. who is his coach? hire him to bring him.
Gonna need to turn Clark Kerr into coach housing at the rate we're adding them lol. Or even better Bowles!
What a day!
TOSH!!!! TOSH!!!! TOSH!!!! Also, please find a way to keep Ulave on board.
Between him and Mini, we should have some good production from the position! Go Bears, great recruiting!
Had a second of DTR flashbsck seeing his name and UCLA up there lol
It gives me great joy that this is a win vs the ucLOL
Not sure if we have a silica-crystaled abode, but lol don't bounce our check

the main reason i like this..
red zone targets.
we got BIG TALL TARGETS who can go over people.
Ian Strong is 6'5" too
if all fails these guys can throw Jesus up in the air to catch it high.
More great news, is this fun or what?
