Cal Football linebacker Cam Goode named to Preseason Bednarik Award Watch List

To the most outstanding defensive player in the country

In what will be the final swan song season for a large group of fan-favorite defensive players, some are finally getting the recognition they deserve. It starts with OLB Cam Goode being named to the Preseason Watch List of the Bednarik Award, which is awarded to the top defensive player in the country.

Alongside his nomination, he was listed to the 2021 Preseason All-Pac-12 Second Team on Athlon, Lindy’s and Phil Steele. In 2020, Goode started all 4 games, accumulating 8.0 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks, 1 fumble recovery, 2 QB hurries, 1 pass break up and 1 pass defended. He added in 12 solo and 7 assisted tackles.
