I hope it’s true, and I hope Wilcox used this to get more money for assistants. Let’s bring michalczik home.

Interesting. People were criticizing or worrying about Wilcox looking for new jobs. Now Wilcox is going to be worshipped for this. Great PR move by Wilcox or his agent.

I never worried about UW, or that Wilcox is pulling a Sonny Dykes and looking all over the place.

I didn't think the Ducks would offer him the job, so if this IS true, I'm flabbergasted...

If it's true...

Yeah UO offering Wilcox the job, and Wilcox turning down such job, are both surprising news individually.

I didn't think they'd offer Wilcox the job, honestly. He's not splashy enough for UO and the fanbase. But I guess that's why I'm an internet commenter.

Maybe the Oregon gig ain't what people think it is....

Rugbear's avatar

Well, Oregon has the most obnoxious fans in the PAC12.

Or an about face for Cal recruits....

Blue and Gold blood now I guess...

Clemson is 2-for-2 in QBs whose name pronunciation required research.

PawlOski's avatar

What kind of name is that BTW?

Laotian father, Haitian mother. Pronounced PUMA-chon. The subject of the article is very sad but it includes family photos. (https://www.gametimect.com/clemson-backup-qb-uconn-recruits-family-home-destroyed-by-fire-day-after-grandmother-died/#photo-832406)

Rattler to South Carolina

I remember something about Adrian having bad reasoning on his decision to flip to Nebraska

I wonder if the transfer portal is going to lead to a further simplifying of offenses, as quarterbacks aren't going to have a year or two to learn the system and the system needs to cater to a more plug and play style?

PawlOski's avatar

If Ratler ends up in baby blue, I wonder if (hope) it impacts Martin's commitment

Looks like there are a number of options for Cal. The Clemson QB sounds intriguing but he hasn't played much. Also, agree that Martinez might have more reason to land at K State than Cal.

DaneStopper's avatar

Martinez will be having throwing shoulder surgery in the offseason and will miss spring practice

Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

Thanks Avi...disappointing to hear Martinez is likely ticketed for K-State...Wilcox should not be losing recruiting battles to K-State, as this is not Bill Snyder's Wildcats team, tho Manhattan, KS is Paris compared to Fresno & Lincoln...

Still, this is huge because if the Bears have to rely on Kai Millner or Zach Johnson (the loser of which probably transfers), barring major growth from him this offseason, this O takes a major step back next year and Wilcox could be gone.

Justbear's avatar

Well the soccer team can offer her too then 😜

BTown85's avatar

I could see the girlfriend factor being the reason "Wilcox loses a recruiting battle to K-State," not really in JW's control or influence.

PawlOski's avatar

Well if he is having surgery and would miss Spring practice as DaneStopper suggests, would this be such a loss? Can't imagine handing a guy the keys to Musgrave's offense (maybe still) with no ramp up. I'm much more intrigued by the Clemson guy anyways if there was a chance.

Garbers would be hurting the team by not letting the coach's know his intent. Doesn't seem like him.

May not make a public decision soon, but I doubt he goes rogue and doesn't talk to the coaches.
