Cal Football Quarterback Ben Finley to Enter the Transfer Portal
The Grad Transfer is a one and done with the Bears
The first name to declare his intentions to enter the transfer portal for the California Golden Bears has come forward and it’s Ben Finley. Finley will have two years of eligibility left at his next destination.
Finley, who came in relief for Sam Jackson V during the North Texas game, went 24/34 for 289 yards and a touchdown enroute to the 58-21 drubbing of the Mean Green. Finley was given the chance to start the Auburn game, but was taken out for Jackson V in the second quarter.
In his final piece of significant action, the North Carolina State transfer was given the reigns to lead Cal into Washington, in which the Bears offense never got a rhythm and was out of the game by halftime and Finley himself would be injured in the third quarter. Finley would only see the field in a relief capacity for Fernando Mendoza, as he would miss some series against Utah and Stanford down the stretch of the season.
Best of luck to wherever Ben’s future lies.
Good luck to him. Not a bad deal, got some snaps, got a Berkeley degree, and now can get some grad school paid for.
