while I'm still a big fan of crushing them at their sold out home (ala '75 where Chuck Muncie was unstoppable in front of 80k), allowing them to cruise for 3 quarters only to watch them snatch defeat from the jaws of victory is almost as good.

Great write-up. As Al Davis famously said, Just Win. And when it comes to the Big Game, it doesn't matter if it's pretty or ugly or even a lucky bounce, as long as the Big Game ends in a W for the Blue and Gold, it's a great day.

Yeah, Muncie did it all. I think he also threw a half back pass. Also Joe Roth and company

kept the pedal to the metal / floor.

To think less than a year ago we were so grateful that Stanford and Cal put on a united front (surreal with the ACC realignment (unlike our own UC brethren). It was great to return to wanting to beat Stanfurd again ...

I cherish the victory, as it gives us one more conference and a Big Game win, but I don't feel as much of a need to needle Furdies or gloat over them.

Seriously, much of the ACC fan base, despite friendly, cheerful rhetoric by paid ESPN staff, despises the "Left Coast" and doesn't really care if there is a difference between Cal or Furd.

We're Calfurd.
