Cal lands commitment from 2026 center Artem Korchagin
The California Golden Bears get a huge body in the middle for the next generation of the program.
Earlier this month, Cal added a key piece to its 2026 class with the commitment of offensive lineman Artem Korchagin. The 6-foot-5, 315-pound prospect from Thomas County Central (Ga.) made his pledge during an official visit to Berkeley.
"Cal was on my mind ever since they offered me," the junior told Golden Bear Report on Sunday following his visit. "At first it attracted me as a top tier university, and after me and coach (Famika) Anae started to build a relationship and I learned more and more about the team and loved it.
Korchagin, who also held offers from Duke, UCF, and Marshall, became the Bears' first offensive commit in the 2026 class. Cal also holds commitments from cornerback Deon Jackson, linebacker Jonathan McKinley, and cornerback Jayden Crowder.
Originally from Russia, Korchagin moved to the U.S. as a freshman and only recently began playing organized football. His bond with new Cal offensive line coach Famika Anae played a pivotal role in his decision, as did Cal’s emphasis on success beyond football.
Welcome to Cal Artem! Go Bears!
Build the line with BIG humans! Good potential.
