I wonder if, program-wise, we've ever truly recovered from that loss to OSU. It was mirrored last season by the Gameday collapse against Miami, with national notoriety on the line as opposed to a #1 ranking.
Cal has never been the same after that game. There were some flashes, like when we were ranked #6 in 2009, but we can definitely say there are two eras. Pre and post OSU 2007.
Agreed, though I am cautiously hopeful, albeit a little battered and skeptical, that the coaching/RR additions will have cleaned up the inconsistent, mistake-ridden play that has defined the Wilcox decade.
This is interesting, because I thought the Pac-2 no longer had an agreement to show their home games on ESPN. Last year all their games not on the CW went to Fox. I guess ESPN wanted some more west-coast games to fill out their late windows! Might also mean the new fully reconstituted Pac-12 will also have an ESPN deal (probably for that purpose specifically).
I’ll never forget Tedford breaking his clipboard.
Me either, that was a killer moment.

I am looking forward to attending the game with my old football buddy and Beavers fan.
Great. We are still having games that end the next morning. :(
OSU - always a tricky opponent, especially at their house.
The range of possible outcomes is infinite.
After Dark, no less.
Hopefully they pull out a W because if Wilcox drops that one, things could go south real quick. Like, 2-5 or 2-6.
I'm keeping my expectations that low

The Miami game last year was after dark as well, but we might have blocked that from our memories (the last thing I remember is we led 35-10...)

Looking forward to a familiar foe in the PAC12.
