Outside of the obvious questions with new QBs, tackle has to be the main concern with this offense. There are a ton of guys who can play guard, but top tackles are so rare, and you can’t be a good team without them. Look what happened to the Kansas City Chiefs. In 3 of the last 4 Super Bowls, they won 2 and got totally wiped out in the third. Why? Both their tackles were out injured in the game they lost, and Mahomes was running for his life the entire time. Sound familiar? I know Bloesch will have these guys coached up, and things will be better. We’ll have to wait and see how much better.
Good analysis! The focus on the offensive line is spot on. I am going all in with coach Spavital. We will have a top 5 or 6 offense in the conference. I think this possibly not because coach McClure didn't coach well, but because he was stuck in offensive system that couldn't work under Musgrave. Now with the change and a coach who understands modern college football we have a chance.
I'm excited and open-minded to see what a "no-excuses" type of season this is going to be. Given the coaching changes and the player changes from the transfer portal, no one can accuse this Golden Bears football team of doing nothing. Lots has been done and there really aren't any excuses. There are a lot of grown men with experience now in place. I view it as a test of just how quickly a program can be able to turn around its on-the-field fortune when moves can be made. Moves were made, skoden!
My son just texted me to say he read that Stanford is in discussions to join the ACC. I have no idea if this is true but, if so, would seem to need to include us (and maybe the other two) to make it viable.
I posted elsewhere that my ties to Clemson are saying the ACC may want to add ANYBODY to use as an excuse to re-open the media negotiations. Maybe just noise, but the big boys in the ACC are very unhappy and I would not be surprised if something is being discussed. Both the ACC and B12 know the race is now for third place ... and that conference will eventually succumb if they can't eventually challenge the big 2... This guy gets it...
Ronan: You call me "boy"?! I will unfurl one thousand years of Kree justice on Xandar, and burn it to its core! Then, Thanos, I'm coming for you.
Thank you for this honest assessment. Hard to disagree with any of your thoughtful conclusions. I think we are in for a long season - ending not with a bang, but a whimper - as we struggle to keep up on the scoreboard with the rest of the potent offenses we will face.

ACC. ACC. ACC.

It would be kind of fun to play Clemson again. Citrus Bowl redux.

Nice summary. Thanks.
Solid article. Thank you.
Thanks for the coverage and for getting back to the topic we can understand right now while we deal with the existential threat.
Good article. At least we are talking about football.
