"Can Cal’s coverage team insure that Lachlan Wilson doesn’t outkick his coverage?"
Are we really concerned that Wilson will outkick the coverage? I believe the reports from camp said he was getting 5 second hang times on his punts and getting them above the rim of Memorial. That seems ideal for getting the punt coverage in good positions.
Ultimately the large sample size of three seasons of punt return issued outweighs the small sample of a report of a few good hang time kicks in practice in terms of calibrating my expectations
I’m sorry, but at Cal we have to include in any Special Teams analysis how we block on FG attempts, particularly when playing your arch-rival. I’m assuming that has all been over analyzed and “solved,” but like Nick, I don’t want to assume anything until I see it solved in a game situation.
U$C just hired a new AD from Washington. Hey head-up-your-ass Cal administrators, are you paying attention?

I am extremely concerned. Watch some of his Tulsa punts and you end up giving FBS/D1 track stars 20 yards of running start...

I think one of the running backs should return Kickoffs. We have too much talent in that position group.
Please Not #3. We don't need him getting injured on KRs...
Our 2nd and 3rd string are injury prone, so maybe we shouldn't be putting the 4th and 5th returning kicks.
Hopefully no anguished cries of Soooo'ooootoooo! this season.
That sound would make my skin kraal.

What do you think about calling a timeout? We need someone to research who is allowed to call a timeout in that situation.
I think you meant “2023, unit by unit”
