Cal Football added one late recruit to its 2022 class in DE/OLB Henry Ikahihifo (Hudl highlights).
The former TE played for the Nevada Wolfpack in 2020 before transferring to the College of Canyons in Santa Clarita, CA. Ikahihifo was largely used for blocking purposes, catching seven passes for 37 yards during his time in Reno.
The 6-foot-3 and 250-pound junior was originally in the class of 2019 and spent two seasons at Nevada before entering the portal in 2020. He made the position change to the defensive side of the ball after transferring to College of Canyons. He is ranked as the 12th-best defensive lineman at the JUCO level. In ten games at the junior college level, he produced 32 tackles, 5.5 sacks (-17 yards), 5.5 tackles for loss (-39 yards), one forced fumble and four pass breakups.
Among front seven recruits in the 2022 class, Ikahihifo joins Utah defensive end transfer Xavier Carlton, Washington linebacker transfer Jackson Sirmon, edge Curlee Thomas IV, outside linebacker Nunie Tuitele, and defensive lineman Nate Burrell. The Bears definitely have looked for some instant impact players and it’s likely Ikahihifo can get in that mix pretty quickly.
Welcome to Berkeley, Henry!
