Cal Football Spring Practice Starts March 18, Spring Game On Cal Day
The first looks of the squad in the Tosh Lupoi era are weeks away.
Cal football returns to the gridiron for official pad-on-pad work in two weeks on Wednesday, March 18. They will practice 13 times at California Memorial Stadium, and wrap things up with the Spring Game on April 18, which would coincide with Cal Day.
After its first practice, Cal will have its Pro Day on March 19 featuring aspiring NFL talents, followed by its second practice on March 20. After its second practice, the Bears will be off for spring break, then resume practice on April 1.
No other dates have been announced yet, although given the level of secrecy Tosh Lupoi was used to working with at Oregon and Alabama (even Cal under Jeff Tedford), there’s a high likelihood that the plurality of practices will be closed to the public. No dates are officially announced yet, but we might get less visibility to the Bears this offseason compared to prior seasons. We’ll see if it makes a measureable difference.
