Excited for the upcoming season, whatever it may bring. Nice to also see that Berkeley has relaxed some of the Covid-19 restrictions so that full practices can be held.
Big news with Paster coming down to ILB. With his speed as a former safety and his increased weight he could be a holey terror at that position. Cal is loaded at ILB and it will be good for Deng to play outside, which will likely be his position in the League.
Also it seems like Cal is already minimizing the full back position, which should mean that we have a more "open" offense. That should make the pundits of Cal's offense a bit happier.
Now if we could get an improved OL and more efficient production from the QB position Cal's offense may not be the doormat of the conference this year. But it will need to start with OL improvement.
Excited about the Paster move. One of the reasons Tampa Bay won the Super Bowl is because their ILBs, Lavonte David and Devin White have lots of speed and can cover receivers. If Cal can have a similar duo in Paster and Iosefa, they'll be in good shape for the next couple of years.
yeah, those ILBs for Tampa are filthy and can play all over the field. I especially like how the Wilcox staff identifies position changes to work so well. Best example of course is Weaver!
Agree about Paster. He's a physical player and should fit well inside. Deng is made for OLB. It's a solid move. FB was never a huge part of the offense and they should be able to fill the spot with someone currently on the roster unless the right guy comes along from elsewhere. FB's are a somewhat rare commodity these days. And, I expect OL to be much improved this year. We've got more athleticism in the group than previously.

Athleticism in the OL is so key. Look what happened to Kansas City in the Super Bowl when their lost their starting tackles.
He was totally joking. He and Wilcox go way back and are buddies.
