Early this weekend, star San Diego State safety Patrick McMorris suddently entered his name into the transfer portal. Rumors quickly gained steam that McMorris, the brother of former Cal fullback and now coach Malik McMorris and Cal track and field athlete Hakim McMorris would be the latest McMorris to dawn the blue and gold.

Said rumors obviously came true and Patrick McMorris will be the latest student athlete to come compete in a stacked defensive back room. With Lu Magia Hearns and Nohl Williams currently manning the starting CB spots and Craig Woodson leading one safety slot, the Bears added McMorris to add to competition beyond Raymond Woodie III and Miles Williams.
McMorris is a two time all Mountain West conference nominee and won co defensive player of the year in the conference this past season. This built off his 2021 season, where he had his breakout party and led the Aztecs in tackles (90) and tallied four interceptions.
Welcome to Berkeley, Patrick!

Great news! I watched the Spring Game. Happy to see the speed and agility on both sides of the ball. The defense will be better this year I bet. Still fretting over the O line. But hey, I got to admit it's getting better, getting so much better all the time. And the offense can't get now worse from last year, right? More Kool-Ade! Go Bears!
