I know you had a fuzzy stream, while I had Todd McKim on a Shanghai bus commute, but I'd be interested to know how we're generating looks for Jordan and Grant, when I think that neither player is really able to generate their own offense off the dribble like Matt could when everything broke down. Neither are really knockdown shooters either - they just happen to be the current best options.
I guess my question (and I probably already know the answer) is Fox doing anything creatively or fun with a bunch of guys who all seem to be decent basketball players, passers, etc - but no actually guy who is a stand out? A motion offense or lots of Princeton cuts would be interesting if I had a bunch guys of equal ability.
Not great creativity beyond PNR and high post, but Jordan has exceeded my expectations for creating his own shot, floaters, step backs, drives. I didn’t see the Las Vegas game, but he hasn’t taken many bad shots at Haas. He has a good handle and can get to the basket better than most others on the team. Grant has taken some questionable shots, especially with lots of time on the shot clock. He’s worked a lot on his shooting and dribbling, but I’d prefer the ball in Jordan’s hands at the end of the game for the right pass or shot.
Shepherd killed us down the stretch at UNLV by going solo like 90% of the time he got the ball. Last night, he looked good on the drives and midlane pull-ups, plus he looked to pass on those drives instead of force it. This is the Shepherd we want; instead of the Matt Bradley replacement.
I am OK with Grant's shots last night. Again, at UNLV he was too tentative and gave up the ball too quickly. I'd rather have him take shots and gain confidence over deferring to Shepherd.
Less shots for Shepherd all around, please. More ball movement, more moving without the ball...this team is going to need to be efficient & limit to’s to win. They were that last night.
Listed attendance was 421. Fire Fox immediately, no enthusiasm here.
Holy shit. You have to be lying. no way. They even had a contest for the first 500 students who would get free stuff. LMAO
Yikes!
Wow, that's rough. Like a volleyball or gymnastics meet.
That’s inexcusable
I mean I used to go to baseball games and do homework/reading and look up for Cal at bats or high leverage moments.
Cal finally gets that transitive win over Nevada
Winning is better than losing, I always say.

Thanks - that's helpful, and completely unsurprising. I had zero expectations for Jordan since he wasn't that great at Charlotte.
I don't know Grant, but the view from 5000 miles away is that he's probably pressing since he might view himself as the replacement for Matt.
Also, step backs from less than elite players always make me think of the Patrick Ewing video at Georgetown.
"One footed step back fade away? Do you practice that shot? When?"
Like just because Lebron, Steph, KD, Harden, Luca make that shot doesn't mean YOU should be taking it.
Exactly.

Only positive about our current bball team are the uni's - hope they stay.
