It seems like just yesterday that WBB was signing 5 stars left and right.... If healthy, is the WBB outlook pretty bright? (Sorry, I forgot to tune in for the 20-21 season. Seriously wasn't in the mood).
Can't wait to see Ortiz, if only on video. Just think--seven guards, a quartet of towers, and Daniels; may at least 10 of them stay healthy and energetic all though 2021-22.
Thanks Nick....nothing like adding turnover prone, borderline-at-best Power-5 Conference talents to a roster that's filled with them. Get excited people....
I feel like we were actually decent with turnovers last season, but that may have been a function of our slow pace.
Nevermind, I just looked it up - we're 206th, but it's only 12.8 a game and 11.6 (opponent's) is 51st. So the different between above and below average is like 1 turnover.
I mean, do we even have a single player that can create their own shot? The one guy we had is now shooting jumpers off I-8 in La Mesa...and can you blame him? No.
Watching the Tournament in March, what struck me the most was how big the gap was between Fox’s crew and teams in the Dance from an athleticism, shot-making and basketball execution standpoint. Just from the perspective of the eye test, in terms of basketball competence, we’re not close, and another mid-major guard that can’t score the basketball consistently and struggles with turnovers does not seem to be the answer.
The tiniest thing to look forward to next season - we played relatively well without Matt. Felt like we got more rotation and ball movement without our best player. Can we keep it up over an entire season? I say no, but I guess we'll find out for sure.
That, and the fact that they kinda started figuring things out defensively towards the end of the year. Also, here's 5 other things I'm interested in seeing next year:
1. Will Celestine continue to flash promise at the wing?
2. Will Kuany look at all comfortable & contribute in any way on O?
3. Can Joel Brown hit a FT?
4. Will the 6'7", 225 Sam Alajiki's athleticism allow him to make an impact as a FR...that's the type of athlete they're lacking?

Unfortunately we didn’t do a lot with the TO’s we forced. This team had soooo many empty trips...
How many players do we trust to get a good shot with the ball in their hands?

Nick, I'm not sure - is 7 guards better than 1? Show your work. Thanks.
It's like an extra point when all you need is a touchdown

Nick only writes from his heart and never uses math and stats. So it’ll be tough to show his work.
