I watched the men's game. I was excited when we took back the lead but we we really couldn't get any closer than a five point deficit in the 2nd half. But it was nice to see some new faces out there. Like last year, Joel Brown needs to figure out how to make layups. It was also nice to see more shots from beyond the 3 point line, though our success ratio was not good. Today should be a W however.
I do expect Oregon State to get better as well, but you have to think that assuming that Cal does improve as well that the conference rematches against OSU would still be the best opportunities for conference wins.
I was excited too, and it’s tough to gauge after some COVID-limited practice time and just one game, but looked much the same as last year. Matty Bradley and then a whole bunch of questions...Betley & Makale will fill some of the void left by South and Paris, Kelly will be solid if unspectacular, Grant will have periods of complete disappearance, and Lars will be your standard Euro-Cal big....7-foot, relatively unskilled but a big body.... I like the increase in looks from beyond the arc, and we probably won’t have many days where MB and Grant both struggle to this extent. And I did see stretches of some solid D....was hoping for a little more out of Kuany
"Cailyn Crocker is out for the year injured." According to Charmin she'll be able to play later this season.
Oh thank goodness - I searched all over for info and what I found was scanty and unclear
