Cal cannot expect to be competitive in a conference like the ACC, when you have to rebuild your roster year. We were just 2-11 on the road last year. I certainly would not describe any ACC road game as very winnable. o

Hopefully the turnout will be better for the home games.

Agreed, AK.

My concern is the program has simply been irrelevant and all-too-often non-competitive for the better part of a decade so student interest is as low as it has been in what, over 40 years? Knowlton’s continued employment has killed MBB donor activity, and he has hired bozos in the marketing department with zero ties to, and little understanding of, Cal and the Bay Area market.

Duke and Carolina will be draws because of the brand, but fear Haas is going to continue to be a morgue until this team starts stacking wins and gives students a reason to come. Madsen needs to schedule light and start winning.

Remember the old adage "win at home, split on the rode" as the measure of success in basketball? Well.....good luck with that.

I’d rather have the winnable games at home and the hard games on the road.

We’ll lose to teams like Duke either way, but at least have a chance at home with the likes of Pitt.

Wonder how all of this was decided and how much / little say we had.
