Obviously it's still relatively early, and he is certainly better than his predecessors, but so far I am not too impressed with Madsen's in-game coaching. Seems like most of the time our opponents adjust and we don't have any answers.

Not getting much offense from our bigs this season...

Makes it easy to scheme and play defense. Just slough off on Cal's bigs, and focus on Andrej and front Blackshear.

No. It was a concern - Sissoko was a rotational big in East Lansing that averaged like 3 & 4, and Dort was basically a project.

I like Dort, he's a playmaker and not half bad on rebounds.

Overall, our guys fgo for many low percentage shots. Lots of bricklaying.

I think he’s absolutely got upside…but to be competitive this year for the postseason we probably needed a proven P4 big….

Missing the D, Cal D failed to catch the flight East. Fouls being called on Cal when it looks like all ball blocks or steals in 2nd from where I’m sitting

Last two fouls on Petriatus looked like all ball to me

Cal’s D has not made an appearance since Madsen got to town. He’ll get it figured out, but they certainly gotta get it communicated to the kids so they can execute.

Did Andrej hurt his finger on that play?

We run over to double and they find the open man. Can't say it's wrong, but they're scoring.

Cal’s D under Madsen is really the only cause for concern to continue the upward trajectory. Last year you could maybe point to the lack of depth, but this year they’ve regressed badly.

Not sure what the solution is, players v schematics, but it’s tough to win ballgames v Power Conference rosters when you’re so easy to score on…

These 2H collapses are killing them. Madsen and his staff are not dummies - they know basketball. But something is getting lost in translation.

3 point shooting by the Bears and against the Bears has been the difference this year. Cal doesn't work for anything other than driving to the basket. Very few assists is also a big problem.
