Hope springs eternal right? Or is it the hope that kills you? This season opener was probably the perfect summation of both those statements holding true. An unorthodox time, a newly minted D1 team, and 4 players missing due to injury led to a confusingly frustrating game.
riffing on my comment in the other bball post, Wilcox & Fox have come up with a brilliant new 'strategery' - put such a bad product on the field (or court) that the sports lose $$, the school can't afford to fire them, & mega-donors get apathetic (buy-out fatigue from starting over every few years?), and BOOM! Job security. I'm going to try this at my next job, right after I get elected to Congress & pull a Gosar.
Part of me understands and accepts how and why we have a below average football program. I genuinely don’t understand how the basketball program hit this truly historic level of rock bottom.

I expected this team finish 12th but even this is is surprising.
