Nice! I love the size and shooting, especially at the position…guys that can consistently score the basketball at multiple levels are always welcome, and the 6’2” can hopefully defend a little better.
My only concern AK would be whether Jojo has the athleticism to be as effective at this level? Thought that was an area we struggled with last year when backcourt transfers from the WAC, Southern and the AAC really struggled to win ballgames against good P5 teams. That said, guys that can hit shots and defend can play, regardless of pedigree…shooters are valuable!
Jojo has entered the portal. He’s a local kid. He averaged 21 ppg. He has good handles, plays D and has excellent court sense. He would be a very good back up point and points off the bench. Cal desperately needs a stronger bench. Bears really should give him a look.
Just look at UCSD. Undersized at the 4 / 5, but tall enough at 1-3 (which I think is more important in modern basketball). No one had the athleticism to keep up with Michigan, but they were extremely well-coached, played team defense, and made their shots (eventually).
