The Bears got some great news when the NCAA announced that all D1 to D1 transfers would be eligible to play this season.
The blanket waiver applies only to DI to DI, per NCAA. Transfers from other divisions still have the traditional waiver process. https://t.co/qNrn3ymjm2

The proposal was on the docket for the D-1 council which met on Wednesday.
Now. What does that mean for Cal?
It means transfer PG Jerrad Hyder is eligible to play for the bears the rest of this season. Hyder transferred from Fresno State, after playing over 80% at PG for the bulldogs his freshman season. He should bring immediately firepower as an effective 3PT shooter and some stability to the PG rotation. Mark Fox did say he was dealing with a knock so it remains to be seen if and when he will suit up for the Bears.
What's the "knock" he is dealing with?
Good news to be sure. Someone to rotate with Joel Brown who is a defender but not much of a scorer.
