So what do you think it takes to get Fox fired? A winless season? Has that ever happened in college basketball? Normally a P6 team takes down the free wins to start the season, but we lost all ours.

Fox will be gone after the end of the season at the latest. I think he only has one season his contract after this one, so this would not be another Wyking scenario if we let him go. The question is really whether Knowlton has the stones to fire him midseason. The argument is often that firing a coach midseason may be seen as a negative to prospective coaches, but I think in our exceptional case, it sends the opposite message. There are serious questions about whether Cal actually cares at all about winning. No coach worth their salt would want to sign up for anything less. Firing Fox early, at least sends a message that the atheletic department might have at least have some modest standards.

The only problem is that the guy who hired Fox in the first place is still there and will be the one who hires the next Coach.

Knowlton goes first so that we can get a new AD to hire a new Coach (or Coaches),
