The Pac-12 Conference has a new bottom-ranked team: the California Golden Bears.
The Washington Huskies (4-17, 3-13 Pac-12), now the second-to-last team in the league, defeated the visiting Golden Bears (8-16, 3-14 Pac-12), 62-51.
California never found its offensive groove Saturday night, held by the Huskies to a low 26.7% shooting. The Golden Bears' offense produced no points in the last eight minutes and eight seconds of regulation, missing their last nine shots attempted in the game.
The Golden Bears' only lead was in the games' first five minutes: a 7-5 scoreline with 16:16 remaining in the first half.
Golden Bear star-player Matt Bradley had a poor night, scoring only three out of 16 attempts and making none of his four three-point shots. Despite the 19% shot accuracy, Bradley still put up 13 points. The junior guard added five rebounds and one block.
Andre Kelly added 12 points for the Golden Bears, including half from the charity stripe. The junior forward made six out of nine free-throw shots.
Really bad shooting by the Bears, Just decent night by Bradley would have made it a close game. Add in a decent game by Anticevich and we could have won. Got to applaud the hustle by Kelly.
Looking forward to reading Nick's evaluation of our team.
Why the fuck is Lars Thiemann starting. Why is this inept 7 foot piece of garbage starting, literally sabotaging ourselves before the game begins smh.
Awful. And what happened now to Joel Brown? This starting lineup doomed us.
