With football season being over, I can't wait for basketball. Totally different team. Curious to see if the play is as different as Fox and the players talk about it being. Go Bears!
Few paid attention, and there was generally very little mention of it on W4C, but Fox’s playing rotations on the overseas trip this summer were interesting. Not much info was put out, so not sure if injuries played role, but there was a lot of Askew, Joel, DeJuan Clayton, plus Lars & Okafor.
The real surprise tho appeared to be FR combo forward Grant Newell, who played big minutes and produced. A Chicago native and graduate of city powerhouse Whitney Young, Newell’s own coach last year at the IMG (FL) prep academy where he spent a gap year even called the 6’8” kid a project at the P5 level…interesting - he sure didn’t appear to be, at least from the stats.
Heard very little mentions and production from Alajiki, Anyanwu, Bowser and Roberson.
Should be interesting - wish I had any faith in Mark Fox.
I'll be putting Cal MBB in simulator mode until the AD actually pretends to care. Knowlton & Co are not only burning today's goodwill but tomorrow's donor base.

Actually a pretty generous rating. I heard from one person who was going to slot Cak 15th in the conference, and OSU 18th.
