The schedule didn't break incredibly well for the Bears in terms of a measuring stick, considering LA/AZ/SC are all elite....Bears can be an average team (tho they're probably not) and still go 0-6.
The real test of 3rd year progress under Fox will come in the month of Feb: 8 games, 7 winnable (only @ Ducks is a surefire loss IMHO)... 2 v Stan, @ OSU, and home v. Wash schools and Mountain schools, with the game v Colorado shaping up HUGE for Buffs NCAA bubble chances.
You are right, we just weren’t going to beat the top of the conference
I hope our game vs USC can at least be competitive, and who knows… if we keep it close late, we could steal an unlikely upset
It stats with getting some of their key players in foul trouble
I think we will win some of the other games, but won’t be favored in most. For example I don’t think we beat Colorado. I do think we have a shot vs Oregon at home because they look so undisciplined, but that game will still be a long shot
As the season progresses, we have less opportunity vs Stanford. Too bad our game was cancelled. A veteran Cal team will improve less over the season than a young Stanford team
According to Calbears.com, we don't get the Ducks at home this year...on paper, we should definitely beat UW & Utah at home, but with Haas being a morgue because no one goes to the games, they could very easily be coin tosses.
Either way, there is little evidence to support the feeling that Cal finishes any higher than 10th in the Conference.
Perhaps the true test of progress with Fox is whether he can start coming out of winnable road games with a W...at SLC and SEA were disappointing...we'll see what he does @'Furd, @ Corvallis, & @ Tempe....
Hate his herky, jerky, up and under, and fade away game
Walks when he does it yet rarely called
But they do call the ticky tak fouls he gets when he does it. I think they put Grant on him who can just sit on that move and with his height bother his shot

What are we satisfied with in Feb? 4-4?
What gets Fox on the hot seat? 2-6?
Thoughts?

In that case I don’t see us beating Oregon
Utah is definitely winnable but their tall combo guard always has career games vs Cal)

too bad Brown couldn't play in the state of washington (except the 1 minute)
Good luck Bears...you're gonna need it.
hope we have a solution for Boogie this game
Brown needs to show his reputation as a top defender when we play SC, otherwise I think it will be just like last game
Drew Peterson has the most USC face ever.

I want to f-ing punch it
