I missed the game unfortunately, but a look at the stats leads to the obvious question: just what was Newell doing for 33 minutes? 2 points on 1-2 shooting, 2 boards, an assist, a block…4 TO’s, 5 fouls.
Think he’s got skills…hoping he can develop some this year…not sure he will.
He played some solid defense but the 1-2 shooting is a key stat. Started the season shooting poorly and now he’s thinking too much or just playing tentatively. Okafor got chop blocked when butler’s 240lb shooting guard stumbled on a drive into the paint. Could be a serious knee injury. Celestine made a brief appearance first half but not quite ready.

He fouled out on 1OT dribble drive. Defender fouled him as well but Grant lowered his shoulder a bit.

Good try. Loss not for lack of effort. Tyson was fouled. Hit a free throw at the end of OT 1 and we win. Otherwise we just ran out of gas.
