This was our best win in a long time. What an awesome game.

mrjpark's avatar

I think the UCLA win was better. We have to stop giving teams 10 point handicaps.

Fyght4Cal's avatar

The Bears have been ballin’ since about the 10 minute mark at USC. Great win Bears!

KetamineCal's avatar

I know it's late but I hope Erlyn Madsen drops by to celebrate with us.

Asked below what this program’s identity is going to be…think we know now: mental toughness.

Team is learning to battle.

Program defining win tonight, folks. To quote Dan Beluomini: “How do ya like it?”

KetamineCal's avatar

Jaylon Tyson went supernova like he was posing for the Webb Space Telescope. I think he's found his home.

hoopdreams's avatar

shout out to Larson

shout out to Grant who played more aggressively than he has in a while 4 rebounds and 3-5 shooting including 2-3 from downtown

KetamineCal's avatar

We were undersized inside but not out fought.

Bearly Rational's avatar

So many haters. Love reading the beginning comments to the end. The bear doesn’t quit, the bear doesn’t die! Believe!

KetamineCal's avatar

I gladly admit my mistake. This second half is how I imagined Madsen ball could be.

Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

“Randolph…Randolph.”

“Mortimer, we’re back.”

Strut’88's avatar

Oh no oh no oh, oh yesss! Wide open three is bricked.

Fyght4Cal's avatar

Is that the Da Silva from Stanford?

KetamineCal's avatar

THE BEAR DOES NOT QUIT!

GlueAndBold's avatar

What a comeback! Seal it up!

KetamineCal's avatar

We escaped the press!

Fyght4Cal's avatar

I almost turned the game off at halftime. Glad I didn’t.

Bluehenbear's avatar

I got a “close game alert” and wuZ like wut? And tuned back in

KetamineCal's avatar

BANG! Another phenomenal drive by Tyson!

Bluehenbear's avatar

Finish them off Bears!

KetamineCal's avatar

Aimaq is gone so we're not scoring in the post. But we're defending, scrapping for rebounds, lethal on the perimeter, and taking care of the ball. After being down 20. If this is Madsen ball, I'm here for it (except the falling 20 points behind)

Toohandy's avatar

What happened to Aimaq? I just tuned in for the last few minutes.

KetamineCal's avatar

Fouled out with about 3 minutes left. Only played 24 minutes. Colorado center pushed him around and shut him down. Tough night inside aside from rebounds.

Brad (aka, RibI)'s avatar

man, this is crazy! first, UCLA, now this? I gave up when they went down by 20.

Fyght4Cal's avatar

Simpson is out of control

abqbear's avatar

Win or lose, I love the fight!

KetamineCal's avatar

Tyson doing some good work directing his screeners.

hoopdreams's avatar

Cal with the great run ... dumb inbound unforced turnover and a easy basket for colorado

I've been critical of some of the calls on Cal, but that was a quick 5 second violation, and I don't think I've seen that all season

KetamineCal's avatar

Our defense has intensified and it's making a difference.

Bad pass turnover...argh

hoopdreams's avatar

Bears on a run, but how long can Larson defend their center? He must be double Larson's weight and taller

missing Okofor!

KetamineCal's avatar

Larson can defend as long as he has fouls to give. He's not going to score much, though.

Erlyn madsen's avatar

Only 6 points behind now. 10 minutes to go. Lots of time.

KetamineCal's avatar

I won't get my hopes up but the score is prettier when we hit 3s.

hoopdreams's avatar

Aimaq is a poor defender

This is a game where Grant needs to step up (he's 2-3 including 1 three). He needs to defend better and grab more rebounds at 6-9

otherwise we will have to continue to jack up 3s

Curtis helped us defensively

Can Cal go on one of our 2nd half runs to make a game of it?

Erlyn madsen's avatar

We are going to turn this around.

Bowl on you bears's avatar

Reading through this thread the morning after—everything before your post was negative, but you called it! What an inspired team. Go Bears.

bigaddi's avatar

Looking forward to no Cone or Aimaq. Always a painful watch

Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

Simply not competitive from the opening tip.

Night, Bear fans. Until tomorrow.

Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

I did. Took a little breather to settle down, then returned. Didn’t want to jinx by posting.

Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

What’s this program’s identity going to be under Madsen?

We still don’t have an answer to that yet.

Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

Gonna build around Brown/Newell/Celestine/Curtis.

KetamineCal's avatar

Ugh another talent gap game. Time to reset expectations for this one.

Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

Ha, Fardaws can’t guard anyone

OC Bear's avatar

is that breaking news?

Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

Not a bit.

But every now and then, you see just how poor a defender he is. The Montana State big, this guy tonight. Zoiks.

Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

Curtis a big body - needs to work on post moves.

Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

Pathetic with the ball. So careless. Can’t make a shot.

Yuck.

Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

Madsen has a lot of work to do.

OC Bear's avatar

the difference in athleticism is staggering. Not sure Madsen can fix that.

Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

Gonna have to recruit and develop. Can’t live in the portal.

bigaddi's avatar

Aimaq was so overrated coming into the season. Below average power 5 big

Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

Zero chance to play in the League.

Been wondering since Opening Day how he won DPOY, let alone twice.

ak_A_bear's avatar

I don't proactively follow the schedule. I am usually always "surprised" by WFC hours before or after the game starts.
