Kelly needs more touches (5-5 in the first half, 1-3 in the second). Shepard needs to realize he's hurt and not throw up so many shots - without him the team shoots 6-11 from 3! (even with him we shoot 7-16 which is a night I will take every single time).
TBF, a couple of JS's 3pa were desperation heaves at the end of the shot clock; he wasn't the intended shooter, at least not under those circumstances. Most of his shot attempts were sound, and he wasn't hogging shots. The team had trouble getting Kelly the ball inside in the second half.
First Fresno State stifles Santa Clara who was scoring 88PPG and holds them to 52. Then they are undefeated. Then Cal goes in and beats Fresno State almost like its nothing. As Jon Rothstein would say "Anarchy? Nope, just college basketball."
I hear ya…If he had proven to be an efficient scorer in Norman or at UNCC, maybe you can chalk it up to injury, but he’s never been one, and he still gets beat on D far too often.
Fox is asking him to play a role he may not be suited for…but someone had to fill Bradley’s shoes, I ‘spose.
no one else can get a shot off tightly guarded or create a shot - it's not like Shepard is good at it, but he can at least do it. (No i don't have a solution either, aside from keeping Justice Sueing and Matt Bradley)

I don't mind a healthy Shepard being the leading shot taker, but his hand is clearly affecting him .
Not the prettiest offensive display, but any win is a good win.
Great point, Alex…win’s a win !

They defended, hit their FT's and limited TO's...that's gonna be their recipe in Conference.
Did what they had to do. If only they couldve beat the hall.
I still like the shot Grant got off.
Jordan Shepherd can hit all the shot-clock beating prayers he wants, tho, he's still in the doghouse after the UNLV and Seton Hall games.
Rich Cililini said he's been wearing a hard brace off the court and has a taped up thumb from an injury he suffered during UNLV

Shocked we're going to win this one.
My hopes were not high when I tuned in. Pleasantly surprised.
They defended and played well. Shots were falling, as evidenced by Shepherd Hail Mary
Ya, decent win v. a depleted Fresno State team that will win some games this year.
Kuany starting to figure things out, which is interesting...not enough minutes for Alajiki.
That was pretty Kuany!
Ok that Shepherd shot was cool.
Just like he planned it.
Prayer
Lars battling for the offensive board...kicks out to Shepherd who absolutely clangs a wide open 3 off back iron. Good work by Lars tho!
I know BYU owned the Pac this year but advertising their channel on our underperforming "network" is a phenomenal troll.
Kinda like when Henry's rented out the bar to the University of Tennesse - brutal.
Decent enough first half. Bulldogs has several airballs. Kelly is a beast. Kuany overperforming, Hyder underperforming.
Grant can get it going...so sweet when he's in rhythm
Hyder really can't compete at this level. Sigh.
Kuany with the swat!
Nice set for Lars there
This Kelly/Robinson battle is fun.
Is there a possible redemption arc for Hyder? He just seems outclassed.
I fear not...they're whispering he has "nagging" injuries but he just doesn't do anything at a Pac 12 level.
Kuany is so close to being able to make an impact...he's just too inexperienced and needs to add just a little more strength.
Already a junior!
I know…he was just so raw when he got to Berkeley.
Question….didn’t they give everyone a pass from COVID season last year so that even if he’s a JR, he still has 2 years of eligibility left…
He must've heard you.
Jordan Shepherd = Stephen Domingo
Trouble
1-4 with a couple turnovers at the 12 minute mark. Irreplaceable.
