Escape...Fox continues to be inconsistent with his rotations...but we can beat bad teams.
A win’s a win, but not sure we should pop the Veuve for an all out W in an empty gym over the worst team in the conference that hasn’t won in 2022...
Still, it was nice to see Kuany & Sam excited after the final buzzer.
Also, for next year, you’ll take the KK (9 & 3) & Lars (5 & 7) lines in a heartbeat...Roberson looked longer, quick & athletic...Jalen & Sam...this team has pieces...Fox’s offense is inept tho.
I know I dissed on Fox earlier, but I will give credit for tightening up the rotation in the second half. Match Lars against Silva, otherwise play as athletic as possible.
Got to execute in crunch time. This has been precisely when Cal has folded in many games this year, but those opponents are also better than these Beavers.
Just officiated a high school doubleheader, then get home and turn this on. The visual quality of this game is equal to my middling games earlier. You're right, the pieces are ok but it's difficult to see what they're trying to get done as a unit.
I'm 6 years in, 3 of them at varsity level. Still learning quite a bit. Why do you think you were terrible? Hopefully you didn't listen to coaches or parents.
1. the game is just too quick, crowded and unexpected for me ... for example, two players scramble for a ball after it unexpectedly got batted away, and the ball goes out of bounds ... who was it off of ?
2. having to watch so many things such as 3 second counts, etc
3. not having a 100% lock on the rules. For example, the traveling call is still not 100% clear to me (e.g. seems to me like Harden walks all the time)
4. and one thing I did which was completely unacceptable for me as a ref, was the ball went out of bounds suddenly... and I signaled the ball to the defending teams direction .... but it was actually the offensive player who tipped it ... I just forgot which direction that player was going so I awarded the ball to the wrong team despite seeing who the ball went off of ... the coach saw that and complained, but I still was confused and didn't reverse my call
Not sure if ESPNU actually has more viewers than the Pac-12 Networks, but it's kind of weird that this game is on a more available channel to the bulk of the country.

Phew. Good non calls on that last sequence for OSU. Nice job Bears.
63-61 Cal
Bears win!!!
Vertical defense, nice play Jordan.
No fouls and gotta get the board

Goal tend
Right call. Now let's see the defense close it out.

Bad decision by Shep followed by a tickytack foul on Joel. Come on Cal, don't let this slip away.
A cal 3 would be nice now
Cal d is frustrating
They lose track of their assignments too often & struggle to secure loose balls. Troublesome.
Cal up by 1 at the 8 minute timeout. Let's hope they close this out.
That should be an excessive foul, not a common.
47-46osu
Silva with 3 fouls. Lars having third solid game in a row
Now has game leading 7 rebounds, 5 points, 2-3 shooting, and Silva only has 1 point
This team has plenty of pieces, and Lars is starting to give quality minutes.
Fox & his coaching staff are the problem. It’s an uphill battle so long as he’s there.

Would love you to post your thoughts about reffing sometimes
I’ve done a little and was terrible at it

lots of reasons ... a partial list:
1. the game is just too quick, crowded and unexpected for me ... for example, two players scramble for a ball after it unexpectedly got batted away, and the ball goes out of bounds ... who was it off of ?

After that game, I hung up my whistle
You should hand out technicals like Oprah hands out cars...that’s the trick.
YOU get a T...and YOU get a T....
At half, same number of made baskets and rebounds
Cal survives first half with lots of fouls on our only ‘bigs’ (2 on Lars, 1 on grant, 3 on 2k)
How much would we be leading with Kelly?
Crystal ball says Cal up 5 with AK22
22-22 oh what a battle
Roberson looks better in this game than he has all year.

Battlestar Berkeley ... I like it!
Lock down Lucas (again)
Send Silva to the bench with fouls (not easy)
And shoot the lights out against a terrible 3 point shooting defense!
