Cal has 2 assists on 49 points.

That is horrible.

The lack of ball sharing has worried me all year. And I’m not sure there’s an easy fix. EJ Campbell may help, but we have a lot of shoot first guys throughout the roster.

He won’t. He’s another ball stopper. Rytis, Tucker, Blacksher (usually), and strangely enough, Dort, are the only willing passers on the team.

Need them to make the buckets if they're going to shoot.

Another ticky tack foul while we keep getting mugged under the basket with no calls

No dance this year

Refs were not good. Just returned from game. I’ve never seen Madsen so upset. He probably should’ve been T’d but because he’s so mild mannered, the stripes probably cut him some slack.

Wow… again, HORRIFIC calls late in the game.

Such a disappointing effort, given all that was at stake today.

Fear our brief period of competing with Stanford hoops went out the door with Haase.

Worrisome performance. Stanford looks like a tourney team.

They sure did today.

Cal allowing 91 ppg v. Vandy, Mizzou and Stanford is less than ideal. They can’t get stops and struggle to defend without fouling.

Dort has been getting blocked by the rim today. But certainly not that time.

Cal is lost on defense.

Petraitis is Ron Artest level pesky, though.

Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

Absolutely. He’s a real heady ballplayer.

But the team as a whole gives up just too many easy buckets. Pits so much pressure on the O.

KetamineCal's avatar

Yeah, I'm seeing they're not fighting through screens, not denying the entry pass, and I'm not seeing much help defense.

Andrej is killing them today.

Brutal.

Cal's offense is infuriating. Way to iso heavy, which is fine when guys are hot but doesn't lead to consistent easy open looks. They obviously have talented players who can get buckets in iso but would make things easier on themselves with good ball movement and sets that are designed to get guys open looks

PawlOski's avatar

If we could just get quicker ball movement on the perimeter, that would create better lanes for Blacksher, Andrej and Wilkinson, Tucker, DJ, etc. to drive and kick.

So many ball stoppers on the team

Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

There really is very little to the offense.

It’s the defense that is my concern.

This is a roster comprised largely of mid-major players - Power 4 squads can score on it far too easily tho. Far too easily.

I guess playing all those years with Kobe rubbed off on Madsen.
