'Cuse recruits long, lean and athletic guys which allows them to play Zone at the 3-pt arc, forcing open looks out to NBA-range. So our guys play even farther out, and since we aren't good shooters to begin with = brick city.
Honestly, I don’t know why every team doesn’t zone us for 40-minutes. No one on this Cal team can shoot.
and if you can't shoot over teh zone, you have to drive in the middle and dish. And we don't have anyone that can do either.
Gotta recruit guys who can finish in the paint.
Stoja can, Wilkinson can, JOJ can if he’s fed…that’s the list. No one else can finish.
joj has a very flat shot from outside. with little arc, the difficulty factor increases, and the ball comes in hot,
Yup, JOJ is really only a threat off gives at the tin.
Except Stojakovic and he's injured.
No doubt that really hurts. But even Andrej is hitting just 32% of his 3PA….hardly elite.
6-35 yesterday from 3 says it all….the team does not currently have the personnel to play the kind of offense Madsen wants…
DJ Campbell really struggles to finish at this level. Left a lot of buckets on the floor.
What is going on with Andrej? Is he injured? Ill?
He missed a game while ill apparently, and then was ruled out for at least the next 4+ with a hip.
Cal’s S & C program and training staff remain rather suspect, unfortunately.
