Despite significant cold spells in both halves and digging out of double digit deficits a couple times somehow we found ourselves in position to grab the game or at least push it to overtime. To hold that team to 61pts was a big accomplishment.

The game was there for the taking. But it never felt like we had it in us. Could we have slipped into an emotional hangover after the highs reached in the victory over SC. Early season the team experienced some tough losses that we shoulda, woulda, coulda but crucial lesson gained of take it in stride, learn from it and not get too down. The flip side to that is to not swing too high in the other direction.

My first game of the year. Not sold out, but fairly full. 75%? Far cry from the last xx years!

Quick start, but then devolved into Fox offense. And couldn’t handle the ucla press. Which was disheartening.

But during the comeback, the crowd was into it and loud.

Went with 8-yo daughter, who was also into it. For the first time, she wasn’t distracted by anything. Cheering tons during the comeback :-)

A heartbreaker. Too bad, as this is Cal's year in basketball. Most of our very top players will be leaving.

Can't believe it's true that Cal will have to go east next year to play half or so of it's league basketball games. Tell me I'm dreaming. If not, it's so stupid that will be happening. Once it happens people will say how could that have happened and many will demand it somehow must change.

Great effort Bears.

So AWESOME to have a competent basketball program again…it’s a beautiful thing.

WE ARE ACTUALLY SETTING EXPECTATIONS AND GOALS!

Off-season goal for Grant Newell…free throws and consistent effort. Missed 4 biggies, and the consistency in his game really hasn’t been where you would like for a SO.

Talent is there, though. But in these games where you need someone else to step up, it’s the glue guys that really have to make plays. That’s the next evolution in his game, and trust this coaching staff will get them there.

Tough loss but lots of heart. UCLA's been hot for a month and we played them tighter than anyone.

Nice come back.

Newell…smh.
