Cal played tough much of the way in a conference road game

Kid's battled....but just like in football, the team really needs things to break right for them to get a win v. a good team, especially on the road. This team won't win many P12 road games when they lose the TO battle, and shoot 4-20 from 3, with 40% from the floor and 60% from the line...but the kids still play hard, which is so nice to see.

Missing Kuany was huge - Gach was a matchup nightmare for Grant, who really can't guard anybody - guards are too quick, bigs are too physical.

Utes were -8, and whaddaya know...win by 8. Let's get these next four non-cons....Go Bears.

Where's Kuany to guard Gach? Did he get hurt?

Yes, some form of an ankle injury in the early minutes.

Gotcha. Bummer. Hope it's not serious.

Grant is reaching that territory where I watch him 10x harder than anyone else and harp on him more (i.e as much as Lars) because it seems he can't put the ball on the floor without turning it over.

No, he can't. He's strictly a catch and shoot player from the perimeter.

Kind of a slow start...

I'll be watching this one. Chance for a 2-0 conference start and a couple of easier non conference games coming up. Let's get to 8-4

Well, I think I will give it a view. Now that our "problematic" football season is mercifully over with the rare victory.....frankly, one the least impressive USC wins that I can recall. Sure, it still felt good, but not that good and a whole lot better if we had blown it.
