Nice overview. I watched the game and was generally pleased as it didn't seem Cal State lacked athleticism or size. We made good shots and played tenacious D. More than I expected from this first game. We know we are picked last in the league, but if Fox can get this squad to play fairly error free and do what they can do best, they will win a few and have some fun. Those two freshman who are 6'7" could be a big help if they become rebound monsters and good on defense.

Or it means we're slow if we don't even look particularly athletic vs a D2 team.

Thanks Alex!

When did this “promising” Lars Thiemann ballgame take place? Certainly not in the last 2 years. The only thing about him that is P12 worthy is his size, even tho he plays smaller. If he in fact improved over the offseason, that would be something.

I remembered Lars having a nice game against Wazzu last season. Apparently that was his career high in points.

lol you're never going to get a positive outlook for Lars Thiemann from many on this site, and I usually lead that brigade. Any promise he had usually goes out the window when he plays soft like usual.

Ya, he hit his FTs that game, which was unique bc he's a 50% shooter from the line.

But legit 7'-ers that don't block or alter shots and average under 3 & 3 per game really don't help you much....if he can give you 5 & 5 this year, the fanbase should be ecstatic.

Nice write up Alex. Beautiful team ball and running the system. It wasn't just 4 guys standing around waiting for Bradley score. Grant can be an animal this year; AK looked great. Foreman knocking them down like a boss; where did this Shepherd guy come from - what a pleasant surprise; and Lars might have made a turn (perfect from the field and the line!) with just one pf. Go Bears!

Excellent article, ty. Just curious, will WFC also cover WBB this year?
