Awesome! For the top public university in the world, we should have more brand recognition out where they don't get to watch the sunset over the ocean. Nicely worded, too. Keep up the great work Cal Legends Collective. I'm a donor, but not big enough to pay any attention toward. I was the one in Biology 1A who didn't raise my hand when the professor asked who was planning to be physician. I was top of my class, thank you, but my heart was always in environmental causes. I've been able to be fabulously rich by the standards of my blue collar family, and yet didn't retire 10 years ago as my friends did who went to work at Apple back in 1991.
Thanks for the shoutout guys. We should be live in Atlanta early next week with more billboards and in a few other ACC markets after that. At least one of these has the real possibility of breaking the Internet. This is being funded directly and exclusively by a couple of us donors as a way to help brand Cal Football in our new markets. Plus, it’s funny. If anyone is interested in picking up a market, please drop us a line at info@calegends.com. Go Bears!
I know our population is too small to normally justify an outreach here in Hawai'i nei but... people come here from all over the country and the world, we're not too far off the Pacific time zone so even tourists could watch CAL games while sitting at a bar, and it could be brand reinforcement to support recruiting... just sayin'...
Besides, and this is serious, our news here is so small-town that the local stations often run ads for local businesses as supposed stories. I bet if someone bought a billboard and notified all the local media outlets it would go viral big time. We are a small market but very proud. Even a small investment would generate massive local returns… and as noted above, could seriously get visitors’ attention as well…
Oh, yeah. Good point on a technicality. I was thinking less of the specific of a billboard than how the outreach would be received. Get somebody to paint a mural like the one of the crying woman who is lamenting, "Why can't my boyfriend surf?"
I was just at a graduation party for my friend's son in Hilo. Keawe Isaac Silva played football and basketball at St. Louis High and played WR at Columbia. Not big, only 5'10", bit worked his ass off.

Tawdry and a waste of money on a sketchy middleman renting billboard space. Just pay the kids' families directly.
no harm in advertising in new markets from which we hope to get recruits and viewers
Expanding Bear Territory from coast to coast!
Tell the whole damn world!

I LOVE it. Not like...L O V E

Cal already has a great talent pipeline there
Billboards are illegal in Hawaii.

Activate the flux capacitor, Marty, we're going back to Cal greatness in the future!
I will be looking for the Atlanta billboard! If anyone spots it, tell me where!
As a Cal alum and Berkeley native living in Philly the last 25 years, this is great! Go Bears!
