Cal's Track and Field teams have several outstanding athletes who will compete in the Olympic trials and one who will definitely compete for Olympic gold. He is Mykolas Alekna.
Would love to see how you predict Cal men and women spring teams will finish and whether you can even compute whether the combined men's and women's spring teams will each set an all time record. Probably few other teams have existing records that could allow that computation to be done.
Correction: apparently the swimming portion of the Aquatic Championships in Doha, Qatar is not until next weekend. Klinker will race with Cal women this weekend. Cal Men's Swedish duo of Seeliger and Hanson will probably also race with Cal this weekend as well.
I know rowing typically does have a fall season, but I didn't see any results. Both men and women are certainly ranked in preseason (or whatever) rankings, but I wanted to highlight the programs that had more results.
FYI, I left Cal Rugby out because I could not find a reliable ranking. I will also have a dedicated post on Rugby coming up next week after seeing them play in person tomorrow at UCLA.
Just use the realistic lowest expected ranking for my requested multi team all round result. I don't think any of the schools you mention in all of the sports will come closes to Cal in rugby, so the only issue is how far Cal would move up if rugby was included in the all spring team computation.
Rugby is played competitively by such few countries and is dominated so hard by just a couple. I honestly doubt it becomes an Olympic sport. It's the same problem with cricket.
Cal Rugby is ranked #5 in the nation, and plays UC(la) in Westwood today, followed by a big match with nationally ranked BYU next weekend at Witter.

Thanks again for all your coverage Ruey! Tonight should be a good barometer for where Cal stands against the best in the nation.

Rowing? Cal M crew won the IRA last year, after all.

Is Rugby an Olympic sport?

Don't think so but new Olympic sports are sometimes added. I think golf now is whereas ten or so years ago is wasn't.
