With a 14–3 California lead late in the second quarter, I think there was some excitement in Bear Territory. After a 14–0 run by Oregon and we’re suddenly deflated and trailing 17–14.
Cal will receive the ball to start the second half.
There we go. The Ducks got us last year, we got them back this year. Still annoyed with the Beavs, who've beaten us twice in a row. We'll get them next year.
It's just the feeling of "playing not to lose" that seems to pervade every game of his tenure where he get a lead. Ha, it almost has be thinking sometimes, what's even the point? To notch the win column and one day look back and say, we had this many wins?
Yeah for sure. Maybe this game was different and Oregon didnt help their selves, but def in previous games we could have won comfortably if we kept the foot on the gas, but it turns into a desperate finish to hang on to the win. For the sake of getting a win. Since that's the goal of the game.
Yeah, I wish we were like even just calling running plays instead of delayed kneels. Anything else. But Wilcox is REALLY good at taking a ton of time off the clock.
Those delay kneels and clever little time draining techniques has the feel of a boxer (like say, Floyd Mayweather Jr, but I wont go that far) running around/away in the final minute to not engage with a fighter who's only chance to win is with a miracle KO... met with boos from the crowd. But I get it.

Yeah his play is the most disappointing thing of the year for me. I expected defense to regress without weaver, but Garbers misses way too many passes. Can’t blame the pass rush this week either.

Bears up, ducks down! Wish it were the ax but I’ll take it.
Saved by turnovers, none by our offense this week iirc
Offense was bad. Brutal to watch and wasted so many turnovers and opportunities to score more points.
What a huge second half from the defense.
I feel like scoring the exact same number of points each quarter is peak Wilcox
Ok if his defense can keep opponent under 20 pts
Ok with me when we get to 14/quarter
Analytics prove that holding up 4 fingers at the end of the 3rd quarter improves your odds of winning by 75%
We did that too when Mariucci was coaching.
Welp, it's a Duck thing, I am guessing.
Sirmon has been a HUGE downgrade from DeRuyter from a play calling standpoint.
That’s Wilcox buddy so don’t expect to see him leave anytime soon.
That was the worst playcalling on two minute offense. Not even trying and then giving oregon chance to score with lots of time left in clock
It was the most hesitant two minute offense I have ever seen.

I'll take the win. But man, is Wilcox a boring coach!
I dunno that was way more interesting than it should have been

No I agree with you, I’m being sarcastic that the uninspiring call playing led to that being more interesting than it should have been.

Turtle is going to turtle.
There's safety in the shell

Yeah, but thanks to Oregon.
Defense in 4th quarter was fun to watch!
True dat
Suck it Ducks!!! We tried to give you the game and you still couldnt win!!! This Defense stood tall!
Refs helped too though
New Glasses Ref ❤️
Announcers aside, the penalties seemed legit by and large.
I think that 3rd down ball position was favorable to us
This goes in the W column. Nobody mind the game film.
OMG I can’t believe it
Bears win!
I love the insults to the PAC 12 refs
Fleming lol
Deng nabbed it!
Well I’m pooping
Poop some more!
Now would be a good time for a 19-play drive
That’s why the playcalling card is so big
as opposed to a 10 second 3-and-out from the Dyke's era
Combined with 10 sec opponent scoring drives in 2 plays under Buu
Buh
Buh apologizing to Dykes on live TV at the end of one of the games was sad
Long long drive
Let's get touchdown
I agree with this
Cool. Oregon's downfield coverage on that play looked like ours at the end of the first half.
Great run by Dancy.
Dancy!!
Dancy always gets 2 more yards than I expect
That time he got like 12 more than I thought.
MARK THIS DAY. A HOLDING PENALTY ON OREGON
Almost as rare as the holding penalty on Furd.
So we are 0-3 when Garbers started and ended the game this year.
We are 0-3 when I’ve watched the game.
Stop watching!
That stat was always questionable. We weren’t exactly killing it often when he didn’t finish games either.
We are 0 for Rose Bowls since I turned 1
Haha
Garbers needs to make that throw ugh

Hate to say it, but he looks like a pretty good backup QB so far this season
He looked like a good backup last season as well but our defense was better and be to largely bail him and the offense out.
I feel like Dye is a super senior and this is his 7th year at Oregon
8th, actually
And he gets another season next year if he wants it! Thanks Covid
< still screaming into pillow >
The only way this game can end is on a purposeful safety
Run to end zone take a safety?
Wilcox is all “I totally knew that would happen”
What can Deng do for you?!?!
#takers
"Ding"
GAME BABY
DENG
Takers¡!!!!
Takers!!!!!
What a terrible sequence of play calling there. Garber’s best asset is his running. Gotta give him some options.
What crap
Catch. The. Ball.
I forgot what it was like to have a punt return without a penalty
Bynum intentionally didn't intercept it because he knew they can force turnover in better field position on next play
I told my wife about this comment and said “stupid Cal fans”
For me it’s a rec tho
Lololol
Wow that was a spectacularly crappy series
STURDY BEARSSSS
DEFENSE!
Can I swear here?!?!! Hell yeah bears!!!!
I like this new glasses ref
He should call every Cal game. We need him
We won first and third quarters! Then I just realized we are up in this game. It sure doesn't feel like it
The announcers sure haven’t figured that out yet
Great throw by Garbers that time!!!!
Coverage bust by Oregon. And Garbers took advantage! Nice play
Great ball handling by chase.
