9 points sounds about right, and I expect to lose, but I'll be disappointed if we don't kidnap Michalczik and somehow blackmail or extort him into signing on as our o-line coach.
Our backs need some seams to run through and our QB needs time to throw. Thats the OL. When they do that work, all these other Cal problems that come and go with each game are not the killers they are now. So what else is new, right? Anyway, I think this will be a close game, just because I want it to be and our defense is very good against the run. Would be great if we have a good turnout
Saturday night, makes the games more fun. Bears can cover this.
"College football fans and betters will pay attention to how well Cal can run the ball." Oregon State is top 5 in the nation in run defense and held Ott to 20 total yards in rushing last year. Either Cal puts up some substantial passing yards or they lose early. I'm sure the coaches on both sides know that.
I'll take the Bears to cover and perhaps win outright. Need some creative play calling, solid run defense against Martinez and Fenwick, pressure on ukulele, and a bit of luck.
FOR THIS GAME, I'M HOPING FOR A EQUAL EXPERIENCE OF RUNS VS. PASSES FOR CAL. BUT, THAT MEANS WE'LL BE ABLE TO SEE MORE OF ACKSON SITTING ON THE SIDE LINES WHILE OUR OFFEBSIVE LINE DOES A BETTER THAN EVER JOB OF SPRINGING OUR RUNNERS WHILE GIVING SUPERIOR PROTECTION FOR OUR QB. MAYBE WE'LL BE ALSO ABLE TO SEE A FEW SCREEN PASSES WITH THREE MAN SCREENS ALONG EWITH SOME RAZZEL, DAZZEL, IMAGINATIVE PLAYS! THAT 9 POINT (ODDS MAKERS) ADVANTAGE FOT OREGON STATE MIGHT DISSAPEAR IF CAL CAN GET A FEW TURNOVERS FOR WHICH I'LL NOW PRAY. GERBEAR GOOOOOOO BEARS!!!!
These are the questions asked of Coach Wilcox? Which do you think are good? bad?
1. Tell us about QBs.
2. What impresses you about tOSU?
3. Do you know who the QB is?
4. Having just one QB there from start to finish is important?
5. How do you remedy the self-inflicted mistakes?
6. tOSU multiple sets and trick plays – how will you handle that?
7. Few plays on defense and some offense; sounds like consistency is a theme. Is it frustrating to have these little things derailing you?
8. Back to SJV, decision-making here in ASU game – good or bad or inaccurate?
9. 5 straight ranked teams and the perception that you guys aren’t getting the respect and then he gets into Auburn / Uga and tell the players that we are better (rambling)?
10. Kaleb Elam-Orrs when did you realize he’s going to contribute?
11. Kaleb, can we see a change in his confidence level?
12. Do you design defenses to funnel tackles to the ILBs? (BrooklynBear: why isn’t anyone asking about #55, who played so much last year but not this year?)
We're going to win.
Cal 28, Oregon State 24.
I'll have what you're havin.'

Seriously, I see this season as a scouting tour.
Let's build up that NIL.

Much better performance from line. If Finley's starting, pass game should spread out the DBs.

GO BEARS! INDEED.
More imagination than running it up the middle all the time hopefully
