California will play its 76th game against Oregon State in Berkeley, Calif., on October 7 as its homecoming game, and the latest college football betting odds and lines imply the Golden Bears are two-score underdogs against the 15th-ranked Beavers.

The Cal v. Oregon State college football betting odds opened at California +9.5 on Sunday, October 1, according to sports lines and odds aggregated by the betting website Vegas Insider.
The latest college football betting odds for California v. Oregon State, as of Wednesday afternoon, are between California +8.5 and California +9.5, which implies the California Golden Bears are about a nine-point underdog against the Oregon State Beavers.
According to odds aggregated by Vegas Insider, U.S. sportsbooks now offer “over-or-under” total score bets between 51.5 and 52 points as of Wednesday afternoon.
A bet on the “over” at a total of 52 points would pay out if the combined final score of California v. Oregon State is 53 points or higher. An “under” bet would require the game’s combined final score to be 51 points or lower.
The “moneyline” bet for California v. Oregon State is between California +280 and California +295 and Oregon State -385 and Oregon State -350, according to Vegas Insider’s survey as of Wednesday afternoon.
A moneyline bet at the most favorable odds of California +295 would net a bettor a $295 profit on a $100 bet if the California Golden Bears beat the Oregon State Beavers. In contrast, a $350 bet on the Oregon State Beavers would return a $100 profit at the Beavers’ most favorable moneyline odds of Oregon State -350.

California is 2-3 against the point spread in the 2023 college football season, while Oregon State is 3-2. The Golden Bears defeated the Arizona State Sun Devils last week, 24-21, but did not cover the spread.
According to an analysis by Vegas Insider, 97% of all point-spread bets and 96% of all moneyline bets has been on the Oregon State Beavers. Similarly, nearly all of the money bet (98%) on the spread have been on the 15th-ranked Beavers.
California has the edge in match-ups against Oregon State. The Golden Bears lead the series 39-36 and have split the last 10 games, 5-5.
California has won three of the last four games in Berkeley, Calif., including a 39-25 win against Oregon State in 2021.
Last week, the then-19th-ranked Oregon State Beavers upset No. 10 Utah Utes, 21-7, in Corvallis, Ore.
College football fans and bettors will likely pay attention to how well California can run the ball. The Golden Bears have averaged 212.6 rushing yards per game this season, while the Beavers have the fourth-best rushing defense in the country, allowing an average of 67.2 rushing yards per game.
