This felt like a pretty decent all-around performance. I didn't think our defense was bad either, though NC State is definitely flawed in ways we could exploit.
Glad to have Andrej back. Hoping he shook off the rust tonight. I'm headed to Cameron next week. I have high hopes for the experience, though not the final score. But I still want them to have to beat us at our best and that has to include Andrej.
In the game I watched, for about the first 33 minutes, the energy level was near zero. It didn't help that Campbell looked like he had the flu or something, just kind of a blah effort until the last 1/8th when they turned the energy level up one notch. To Cal's credit, the halftime spread should have been larger, the 1st half officiating was from opposite land, several times the precise wrong call in 3 or 4 obvious cases. In the end, this game easily could have gone the other way but for a kind rim on Cal's end. Would like to see more hair-on-fire effort from the get-go. Maybe the bench isn't deep enough for fear of wearing out the starters?
Can we start a petition to eliminate that annoying ding after every made free throw? Who thought it was a good idea?
