Cal v. Pitt Football Game Time Announced
The California Golden Bears will play in the Pittsburgh Steelers' stadium
The California Golden Bears will face off against the Pittsburgh Panthers at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 12, according to announcements from the Atlantic Coast Conference and Cal Athletics on Monday.
The Cal v. Pitt college football game will be played at Acrisure Stadium, formerly Heinz Field, best known as the home of the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers. The game will be shown on either ESPN or the ACC Network, with the official TV network designation determined after the Week Six games end this coming weekend.
Although it is Cal's first season in the Atlantic Coast Conference, the Golden Bears have faced off against Pitt previously. The upcoming mid-October game will be the sixth in the series, with Pitt leading 3-2. Cal beat Pitt 30-15 in 1966.
Pitt is only one of three teams in the Atlantic Coast Conference to sport a perfect record. The Panthers are 4-0 heading into their first ACC conference game this Saturday against the North Carolina Tar Heels in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Cal will host ESPN's flagship college football pre-game show, "College GameDay," for the first time this Saturday, Oct. 5, from 6 to 9 a.m. PT, when it hosts the No. 8 Miami Hurricanes later that evening. The Golden Bears hope to win their first ACC conference game and upset a top-10 nationally ranked team in the spotlight.
Would be cool to get another ESPN game. I'm guessing this depends heavily on who is still ranked after this week's games.
