Whoever starts, you want more than one guy who can pick up the reins at any point and win. To have two experienced, talented QBs is a necessity, not a luxury. Let's see how fall camp goes. With a new QB coach, I'll also be curious to see what happens in the UC Davis game. Will Chandler be given significant minutes, even if he's not the starter?

In his praise of certain players, he doesn't mention any of last years starters who were really good. Such as Ott, Grizzel, Endries, etc.

He was specifically asked to name players who fans are not already really familiar with. The transcript shown in this article is chopped for brevity. That important part of the question was left out. It should have been included.

Hard to believe Mendoza wont be the quarterback.

It is, but I don't get the feeling that this staff is all in on Nando yet. Hard to tell how much of that is just building depth, pushing the competitiveness of the QB room or maybe trying to solve for an inadequacy.

Feel like he’s another Sam Jackson. Keep Mendoza at starter!!!

Not sure why you would think that. Sam was purely hypothetical. Rogers has already done it. They have a very different skill set as well.

That’s low key disrespectful 😂 I love Sam’s raw talent but Chandler threw 29-5 plus 4 on the ground tape don’t lie

Yeah, Chandler has way more experience. I like Fernando a lot but Chandler probably gives us a better chance to win. Pair him up with our running backs and we probably have one of the best running games in the country (given the line does its job).

We won with Fernando. Chandler is similar to Jackson in that he’s a mobile quarterback that everyone can ohh and ahh at. The fact that his first question is about interceptions he’s throwing, I’d be concerned about that. Fernando also looked way better in the spring game
