Cal QB Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele is Named ACC Football Rookie of the Week
The true freshman is batting 1.000 on weekly awards
Another day, another wall of praise for Cal quarterback Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele. Amidst all the chatter of his stock, Cal’s stock, and the eyes on the rest of the 2025 schedule, it was the ACC that provided a rewarding end to this opening act.
As part of the conferences weekly awards, JKS took home the “Rookie of the Week” honors, totaling 234 passing yards and three passing touchdowns in his debut. He would also go on to rush for 30 additional yards in the Bears 34-15 blitzing of Oregon State.
JKS completed the first nine pass attempts on the night, including back-to-back touchdowns on his first two drives with a statline of 6/6 for 125 yards and two touchdowns. It was the first time Cal had a starter that was a true freshman since Jared Goff.
JKS on how Bryan Harsin and Nick Rolovich set him up for success this past week
”“By calling plays that would be there for me. We had a great gameplan going in, he schemed it up perfectly and it made my job easier.” - JKS post practice today

A great start for JKS. His (and Cal’s) future is bright!
Go Jaron and Go Bears!
