In the other half of the bracket, Life defeated Lindenwood 31-7 earlier today to book their spot in the D1A National Rugby Championship game in Indianapolis, IN on May 3rd.
Cal Men's Rugby earned the easier path as the No.1 seed in the West and was able to rest some key players in the last two weeks. Nonetheless, it was comforting to see the same regular lineup today against SMC (who defeated UCLA and Central Washington each by a mere one score).
"So it's the #1 team from the Pacific Mountain Conference South against the #2 team from the same conference. These two teams met February 22 with Stanford winning 36-19."
Cal Men's Rugby wins 38-27 to set up a Cal vs. Life championship match. Bears couldn't overcome Life in the 2018 and 2019 championship finals.
